COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A man participating in the annual New Year’s Eve climb up Pikes Peak was injured Saturday and had to be rescued from a ranger hut at 14,115 feet.

The Gazette reports that a leg injury made the AdAmAn Club hiker unable to walk down the mountain after the club’s annual two-day New Year’s climb ( ). The male hiker was not identified.

The AdAmAn Club sets off fireworks at the top of Pikes Peak at midnight New Year’s Eve. Thirty-three hikers made the trip this year.
