Lakewood police have named the man who died in a house fire on New Year’s Day.
Michael Scott Knitter, 57, died in the blaze just after noon Sunday in a home in the 300 block of South Parfet Street.
Another occupant of the home was able to escape and call 9-1-1.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A family member who contacted the Denver Post said that Knitter has lived in the home for over 20 years.
