The sentencing of Drew “Bo” Brownstein of Denver, who pleaded guilty to illegal insider trading, was delayed one week to next Wed nesday.
Though Brownstein’s plea bargain called for a sentence of 37 to 46 months in jail, a probation report recommended six months based on his remorse and the support of friends and relatives.
Last week, the U.S. attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York objected to that recommendation. The office said the sentence outlined in the plea agreement is required as a deterrent to others.
