Van Halen’s tour buses are warming up.

After months of rehearsals at the Roxy in Los Angeles, the band – with original frontman David Lee Roth – announced its 2012 world tour today, including a date at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Van Halen will play the Pepsi Center on May 24. Tickets will go on sale on Jan. 28 at tickethorse.com. Kool & the Gang will support.

The 2012 tour coincides with a new record from Van Halen, rumored to come out on Feb. 7. Fansites are speculating that we’ll a new single and video from the band before the end of January.

Van Halen last played Denver in February 2008 on a reunion tour that also featured Roth and stopped into the Pepsi Center. Our review from that show mentioned: “This was the reunion most true Van Halen fans had been waiting for. The mostly original lineup didn’t disappoint, carrying through with each of the band’s signature moves and famous songs – and looking oddly happy while doing it.”
