A Denver sheriff’s deputy, suspected of fondling a girl in December, was arrested Thursday night in Arvada.
Jorge Quinones, 39, of Littleton is accused of fondling the girl in a car in northeast Arvada, said Susan Medina, spokeswoman for the Arvada Police Department.
Quinones was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he was in custody Friday evening.
According to state court records, Quinones is charged with sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. The charge alleges that the victim is under age 15.
He was advised of the charge Friday in Jefferson County District Court. Bail was set at $10,000.
Quinones was off-duty at the time of the alleged assault. He was taken into custody in late December and released pending charges before his formal arrest Thursday.
