DENVER—More than half of Colorado communities are putting major projects on hold this year because of a lack of funding.
The projects being delayed include water and wastewater expansion, road maintenance and repairs to government buildings.
The Colorado Municipal League said Wednesday more than 260 communities across the state do not see the situation improving this year. Nearly 60 percent say they are cutting back on maintenance and 30 percent are cutting street projects.
