A soldier found dead in barracks on Fort Carson has been identified.
The U.S. Army today identified the soldier as Spc. Brandy Fonteneaux, 28, of Houston, Texas.
Fonteneaux was a food service specialist in the 4th Engineer Battalion and served in the Army for more than two years, according to a media release.
Her body was found at about 9:30 a.m. and her death is being investigated as a homicide by special agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
Investigators do not believe there is a further threat to the Fort Carson community.
