GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Dog the Bounty Hunter may get the last word in a spat with Mesa County Sheriff Stan Hilkey over an arrest last year.

A new episode of “Dog the Bounty Hunter” broadcast Wednesday leaves out a dispute Duane “Dog” Chapman had with Hilkey following the apprehension of a fugitive. Hilkey said he didn’t watch the program.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), Chapman’s wife Beth said in a message posted on Twitter it may be “time for Mesa county sheriff 2 eat his words Again decide for your self.”

Hilkey set off a war of words when he criticized Chapman, claiming he excessively pepper-sprayed a fugitive during a scuffle last year and then took him into the sheriff’s office without decontaminating the man first.
