Stanley Paige has been formally charged with being the “Wig Out Bandit,” the man the FBI suspects was behind a string of bank robberies in Denver.

Prosecutors said today a conviction of a aggravated robbery, a class 3 felony, can result in a sentence up to 12 years in prison for each count. Paige faces nine counts.

Paige, 53, allegedly wore a wig in one of his first robberies. The spree began in August and continued until Jan. 5, when Paige was arrested after a bank robbery near 37th Avenue and Quebec Street.

He is being held in the Denver Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
