BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—Festival-goers in Breckenridge were able to drink alcoholic beverages in the streets after the Breckenridge Town Council passed an emergency ordinance.

The short-lived local law allowed people attending the Ullr parade and bonfire to have open containers of alcohol Thursday.

Mayor John Warner tells the Summit Daily ( ) drinking allows people to cut loose but public drunkenness and unruly behavior will not be tolerated. The exemption ends Friday.
