The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Jan. 6 after they discovered three pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
Just before 5 p.m., a deputy officer pulled over Danny Burchfield, 52, who was driving east on Interstate 70 just five miles east of Eagle.
During the stop, the K9 officer Jake detected a strong scent of marijuana.
Burchfield was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and for driving under the influence of alcohol.
