A federal judge Friday denied a U.S. airline group’s request for a preliminary injunction to block a multibillion-dollar package of U.S.-backed loan guarantees for Boeing Co. jetliners ordered by Air India.

Airlines for America, formerly known as the Air Transport Association of America, filed suit against the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. in November, seeking to block up to $3.4 billion in loan guarantees for Air India to buy 30 long-range Boeing planes.
