EDINBURG, Texas — Doctors have removed a bullet from the back of a 13-year- old Texas boy shot while trying out for his middle school basketball team in December.
Donna Tijerina told The McAllen Monitor that doctors removed the bullet from her son’s back Thursday at a Houston hospital.
Nicholas Tijerina still does not have feeling in his legs. Tijerina and Edson Amaro were shot Dec. 12 outside Harwell Middle School. On Jan. 6, authorities charged Dustin Wesley Cook in the shootings.
