LARAMIE — Jamal Fenton, starting in place of the injured Hugh Greenwood, scored 13 points, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, and reserve Phillip McDonald buried a pair of shots from long range during a game-clinching 17-2 run as New Mexico extended its winning streak to 13 games, beating Wyoming 72-62 on Saturday.
Francisco Cruz had 22 points, Leonard Washington 15 and Luke Martinez 11 for Wyoming (14-3, 0-1), which lost for the first time in 12 home games. New Mexico, a strong 3-point-shooting team, was 8-of-14 from beyond the arc, and the Lobos’ reserves outscored the Cowboys’ 22-4.
