Traffic is tied up this morning about 50 miles northeast of Greeley after a tanker truck rolled over and spilled crude oil.

Colorado State Patrol is now on the scene overseeing the transfer of the truck’s load to another truck at the intersection of Weld County roads 132 and 71, a couple miles southwest of Hereford in northern Weld County.

Of the 7,000 gallons being hauled, about 100 to 200 gallons spilled after the tanker rolled over, said Trooper Nate Reid. The state’s hazardous materials unit is on scene. The truck belongs to TPG Transport, Reid said.

The call came in to the State Patrol at 6:44 this morning. Reid said he didn’t have any details on what happened, but said no other vehicles were involved, and the truck driver, a male, was only slightly injured.
