Denver workers, under the watchful eye of police, power-washed a downtown strip of sidewalk this morning that’s been home to Occupy Denver.

Occupy Denver protestors moved plastic tarps, sleeping bags, backpacks and other assorted items onto the lawn of Civic Center so workers could scrub the sidewalk clean.

Protestors sleep nightly on the sidewalk on the west side of Broadway between Colfax and 14th avenues.

Protestors were cooperative and the clean-up, which started at about 9 a.m., took about 30 minutes. A street sweeping truck also cleaned the west side traffic lane that adjoins the Civic Center sidewalk.
