DENVER — Reggie Evans made an off-balance jumper with 10.4 seconds left and No. 5 Metro State (17-1, 12-1 RMAC) held off an upset bid by Adams State (12-4, 9-4) in a 52-51 victory Saturday.

Adams State took a 41-40 lead with 9:29 remaining and held on to the lead until Evans’ shot. The Grizzlies built their lead up to four several times and led by two with a minute left.

Evans, who had hit just 4-of-15 from the floor before his game-winner, finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Marquis Richards led the Grizzlies with 13 points.

Montana State 84, Northern Colorado 72

GREELEY — Michael Dison’s career-high 17 points off the bench led a balanced scoring effort, and the Bobcats (10-8, 5-2, Big Sky) used a big first half and hot 3-point shooting to defeat the Bears (6-12, 3-4).

Mike Proctor led the Bears with 14 points, and Elliott Lloyd and Emmanuel Addo added 13 each.

Montana State opened the game on a 20-7 run en route to a 48-33 halftime lead. Northern Colorado got no closer than nine in the second half.

Women

Colorado State 62, Wyoming 58

FORT COLLINS — Kim Mestdagh scored 21 points and Colorado State (7-12, 3-1 Mountain West) had a season-low 11 turnovers in a victory over Wyoming (6-11, 2-2).

It was Mestdagh’s second consecutive game with 20 or more points. She finished 8-for-14 from the field (3-for-6 beyond the arc) and also grabbed five rebounds.

San Diego State 75, Air Force 62

AIR FORCE ACADEMY  — Despite Dymond James’ third double-double of the season, the Falcons (5-14, 0-4 Mountain West) lost to the Aztecs (14-4, 4-0) and stayed winless in conference play.

Air Force led by two points at halftime, but the Falcons were outscored 45-30 in the second half.

Montana State 52, Northern Colorado 51

GREELEY —  Lauren Oosdyke scored a season-high 27 points, but the Bears (12-8, 4-3 Big Sky) were unable to hold a 13-point lead at halftime and lost at home to the Bobcats (13-6, 5-2).

Oosdyke, Kaisha Brown and D’shara Strange combined to score 49 of Northern Colorado’s 51 points, with Brown and Strange each scoring 11.

Denver 50, North Texas 44

DENTON, Texas  — Freshman Jordan Johnston scored 14 points and Emiko Smith added 12, leading the Pioneers (13-8, 5-2 Sun Belt) over the Mean Green (11-9, 4-3).

After struggling in the first half and trailing by six points at halftime, DU opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take the lead. North Texas was able to tie the score twice until the Pioneers strung together a 13-2 run that started at the 12:15 mark and lasted until 5:14 remained.

Metro State 63, Adams State 39

Jenessa Burke came off the bench to score 11 points and the No. 5 Roadrunners (16-1, 12-1 RMAC) shot 45 percent for the game while holding the Grizzlies (6-11, 5-8) to 32 percent. It was the fourth straight game the Roadrunners held an opponent to less than 35 percent.

The victory extended Metro State’s home-court winning streak to 26 games.

Chloe Cable and Caitlin Boal led the Grizzlies with 12 points each.

Western State 83, Colorado Mines 78

GOLDEN — Led by 24 points from Taylor Murray, the Mountaineers (9-10, 8-5) beat the Orediggers (6-13, 5-8).

Taylor Helbig led Colorado Mines with 22 points.
