Mammoth beats roughnecks

John Grant Jr. became the fifth player in National Lacrosse League history to reach 1,000 career points and helped the Colorado Mammoth defeat the Calgary Roughnecks 13-12 in overtime Saturday night in Denver.

Grant achieved his milestone with a first-quarter assist on a Derek Hopcroft goal. Grant and Gary Gait are the only Mammoth players in the 1,000-point club.

Oedegaard won the 15K freestyle in 48:14.5.
