ASPEN, Colo.—Joggers and hikers in Aspen are puzzled after an ice flow formed on a popular hiking trail.

Open space officials suspect an underground spring caused the thick ice, which is roughly 75 yards long and has grown to nearly 16 inches thick on the Rio Grande Trail.

According to the Aspen Daily News ( ), the trail remains open with warning signs posted about the danger.
