Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. said Tuesday it will begin procuring most of the avionics and electronics components to build the Joint Polar Satellite System by the end of March.
Boulder-based Ball is leading the development of the satellite, due to launch in 2016, for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Production work is expected to ramp up this summer.
