ASPEN — Seven-time Winter X Games gold medalist and boardercross favorite Lindsey Jacobellis tore a ligament in her left knee Wednesday during practice and will not compete this weekend.

Doing test runs on the 4,060-foot-long course, Jacobellis crashed on the final landing coming off a 65-foot jump. Jacobellis, who is leading the World Cup standings, has won gold the past four years at the X Games.

In a statement released Wednesday night, she confirmed she will not race at X Games but is “determined more than ever to take the necessary steps to rehabilitate my knee and come back even stronger next year.”
