It will be sunny and mild in Denver today, with gusty winds developing this afternoon in the mountains.
Mild weather will continue tomorrow in Denver but snow is in the forecast for the city on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Today’s high temperature in Denver will top out at about 56 degrees, according to the weather service, and Thursday’s high will be about 53 degrees.
Winds will pick up later today in the mountains on the east side of the Continental Divide, gusting up to 45 mph through the early evening before increasing to 60 mph gusts later tonight. The winds could create problems with blowing snow, especially above 8,500 feet in elevation, according to the weather service.
Winds along the foothills could gust up to 35 mph along the foothills tonight and up to 30 mph in northeastern Colorado.
Weather in northeastern Colorado today and tomorrow should be dry, with local temperatures about 15 degrees above seasonal norms, the weather service reports.
On Thursday night, a weak weather system will move into the area, bringing colder weather and a chance for snow in Denver.
Denver will see a 30 percent chance of snow after 11 p.m. Thursday, but accumulation in the city, if any, should be less then an inch, the weather service said. Snow should end in Denver by about 11 a.m. Friday, giving way to partly sunny skies with a high temperature near 40 degrees.
