The FBI is calling a man suspected of robbing banks in Denver and Lakewood “the Rainbow Bandit” because his notes demanding cash have been written in different colors of ink.
The man is suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo branch at 1905 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood on Thursday; the U.S. Bank branch at 1100 S. Broadway in Denver on Thursday afternoon; and a Colorado State Bank & Trust branch at 3610 E. First Ave. in Denver on Monday.
He is described as white, between 50 and 60 years old, and about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He had a “scruffy, unshaven appearance,” the FBI said Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI’s Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
