Lee Clayton Roper, whose cookbook, “A Well-Seasoned Kitchen,” began as a way for her to better connect with her mother who was experiencing memory loss, shared inspirational stories from her family’s experiences with aging parents when the nonprofit Christian Living Communities hosted its 18th annual Earthen Vessel Dinner. The event raised $85,000 for an adult day service center now under construction near CLC’s senior living complex, Clermont Park, in southeast Denver. The 450 guests also witnessed the presentation of the Earthen Vessel Award to longtime CLC volunteers Brandt and Vonnie Bruxvoort.
