Passenger traffic at Denver International Airport increased 1.6 percent in November compared with November 2010.

A total of 4,088,543 travellers passed through DIA in November 2011. Using the airport in November 2010 were 4,023,152 passengers.

Year-to-date passenger traffic through November also was up 1.6 percent – to 48,552,636 – from the first 11 months of 2010.

Aviation manager Kim Day said DIA is on track for another record-breaking year.

“The very busy Thanksgiving holiday coupled with capacity increases at both Frontier and Southwest certainly helped offset the planned capacity cuts that United implemented in November,” Day said in a statement.

Day said she is “cautiously optimistic” that the upward trend will continue this year.
