Missy Franklin attracts attention. So much so that the Regis Jesuit junior and aspiring U.S. Olympian has prompted ESPN3 to offer a live telecast of Saturday’s Class 5A girls swimming and diving finals in Fort Collins.
“I think it’s great,” Colorado High School Activities Association assistant commissioner Bert Borgmann said.
The 5A meet is an unusually hot ticket, highlighted by Franklin and Cherry Creek star Bonnie Brandon, a 10-time state champion and fellow Olympic Trials qualifier.
The finals also will be shown on , as will state wrestling finals, the ice hockey title game and basketball tournament games including quarterfinals, semifinals and title games.
The CHSAA hopes to show boys and girls skiing title races.
