DENVER—Denver officials are blaming a computer glitch for failure to collect more than $35,000 in property taxes from homeowners.

The problems were discovered after a homeowner told tax officials he did not want a tax exemption on his property.

Tax officials tell KMGH-TV ( ) the assessor did not notice when the property was transferred from the Lowry Redevelopment Authority to a developer in 2009 and then a homeowner.

The properties have now been excluded from being tax exempt.
