Scheduled Interstate 70 lane closures that have been postponed twice due to winter weather are now set to begin Monday at 7 p.m. at the Twin Tunnels.
One eastbound lane of I-70 will be closed around the clock from 7 p.m. Monday through 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 for a geological survey, according to a statement from the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Weather and traffic conditions permitting, the lane closure might be extended to Saturday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m.
Drivers may encounter delays approaching the tunnels, especially during the day. CDOT officials will monitor traffic and change or remove the lane closure if long backups develop, the statement said.
