Englewood and Littleton firefighters worked together to retrieve a black Labrador that had fallen through the ice in a pond at Centennial Park in Englewood this afternoon.
The dog was about 75 feet from shore and was treading water when crews arrived.
A firefighter from Littleton in an ice-rescue suit went into the water and pulled the dog to safety. The dog was dried, warmed and returned to its owner, according to Englewood Fire
The rescue including 14 firefighter, in addition to staff from the Englewood Police Department, animal control and the code enforcement office, according to the Englewood Fire Department.
Centennial Park at 4630 S. Decatur St. is designated an off-leash park for dogs.
