EAGLE, Colo.—A Basalt High School girls basketball coach accused of having sexual encounters with a 17-year-old male student has been arrested.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said 25-year-old Lauren Redfern was booked into the jail on Thursday. She’ll be held without bond until she appears before a judge.
The sheriff’s office said the alleged encounters happened over a period of about four months at Redfern’s home and the student’s home.
Roaring Fork School District Superintendent Judy Haptonstall told The Aspen Times that Redfern was placed on paid leave last week.
