COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police are looking for a man who they say tried to lure a 10-year-old girl selling Girl Scout cookies near the Patty Jewett Municipal Golf Course.
According to police, the incident happened about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 1500 block of North Foote Avenue. Police say the girl had been talking to a neighbor two blocks away about buying cookies and was walking home.
The girl told police that a white van with the word “roofing” on the side in blue lettering pulled up and a man said “get into the van, I know your parents and they wanted me to pick you up.”
The girl told him no and walked away. The van followed her to an alley behind her house and the man got out, police said. The girl ran to her home.
