FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State University Tony Frank says the school will focus on four guidelines as it explores putting a new football stadium on campus.

He said Monday that state appropriations, tuition, fees or taxes won’t be considered as funding sources for a stadium project.

CSU won’t put a new stadium on existing open green space, and it won’t put the stadium in a place that would block significant spots for viewing the mountains. Frank says stadium plans also should seriously consider impacts on neighbors.

Frank issued those guidelines Monday while also announcing a series of public forums to collect input on the stadium idea.

An advisory committee appointed by Frank is studying where a stadium could be built and potential funding.
