LONGMONT — Police arrested a 16-year-old Silver Creek High School student on suspicion of assaulting the school resource officer on Tuesday afternoon, according to Longmont Police Sgt. Dave Orr.

Police rushed to the school’s courtyard at 1:03 p.m., after school staff called police to help the school resource officer, who suffered a cut to his hand in the fray, Orr said.

The boy was shot with a Taser and arrested. Orr said school officials were suspending the boy from school when he lost control. The school resource officer tried to control him, but the boy fought back, police reported.
