Kiki Heard led Prairie View with 19 points, Jordan Wilson had 17 and Prairie View used a monster third quarter to hold off Ponderosa. Prairie View will play No. 1 Legacy in the second round.

Taylor Huppert, Erin McClaire and Kendall Koslosky each had 14 points and Rock Canyon cruised to an easy Round 1 win. Up next: No. 4 Denver East.
(10) Boulder 53, (7) Fruita Monument 34.
Sophomore Vivi Gregorich scored a team-high 18 points, including two 3-pointers, Lena Jaycox hit a big 3-point shot of her own that gave her team a 40-30 lead with 3:30 to play and Boulder pulled off the lone upset of 5A’s first round. The Panthers play No. 2 Doherty in Round 2. —

Anna Ernst scored 11 points and Rocky Mountain held Littleton to just seven points in the first half in an easy win. Rocky Mountain plays No. 3 Grand Junction in the second round.

(8) Standley Lake 54, (9) Cherokee Trail 44.
Haley Lopez led her team with 20 points, Kelsi Madrid had 10, and Standley Lake pulled away in the fourth quarter to set up a date with No. 1 Highlands Ranch.
(5) Fossil Ridge 52, (12) Pomona 23.
Fossil Ridge led 19-2 after the first quarter, 40-9 after three and went on to crush Pomona. Savannah Smith led the way with 15 points. Fossil Ridge plays No. 4 Rangeview next.
(7) Poudre 53, (10) Rampart 41.
Poudre took the lead by outscoring the Rams 18-8 in the second quarter and held on the rest of the way. Macy Meyers had 26 points in the loss for Rampart, which led by five after the first quarter. Poude gets No. 2 Heritage next. —
(6) Lakewood 67, (11) George Washington 46.
Sabrina Trujillo had 14 points, Miroslava Rangel added 10 and Lakewood cruised after a 37-18 halftime lead. Tyla Wilder and Jaszymn Johnson each had 15 points in the loss for George Washington. Lakewood plays third-seeded Grandview in the second round.

(8) Loveland 50, (9) Chatfield 28.
Loveland turned 22 first-half turnovers into a 26-16 halftime lead in a game that wasn’t as close as the seeds dictacted it should be. Bradey King had 16 points for Loveland, which plays No. 1 Regis Jesuit next. .
(5) Arvada West 63, (12) Thornton 24.
Emily Chenoweth scored a team-high 11 points as Arvada West cruised to an easy first-round win. The Wildcats will get No. 3 Fort Collins next. .
(7) Dakota Ridge 63, (10) Legend 23.
Dakota Ridge advanced to play No. 2 Palmer. Mataya Racek led Legend with 12 points.
(6) Chaparral 68, (11) Smoky Hill 49.
Chaparral earned a second-round date with No. 3 Horizon. Sarah Milafsky had 14 points for Smoky Hill in the loss.
KAYE GARMS REGION
(8) Castle View 63, (9) Overland 57.
Despite 30 points from Simone Evans, Castle View was able to hold off Overland. Castle View plays No. 1 Monarch in Round 2.
(5) Fairview 59, (12) Brighton 28.
Sonia Ghosh’s hot hand, combined with the Knights’ stellar defensive effort, lifted Fairview to a 59-28 victory against Brighton. Ghosh had 20 points. Fairview will play No. 4 Ralston Valley on Saturday. —
(7) Mountain Vista 36, (10) Pine Creek 33.
Jennifer Wahleithner had a team-high 11 points and Mountain Vista narrowly escaped the upset. Vista will play No. 2 Arapahoe in the second round.
(6) Cherry Creek 49, (11) Columbine 31.
Megan Rohrer and Mikaela Eppard each scored 15 points and Cherry Creek used a 16-4 advantage after the first quarter to spark the win. The Bruins will play No. 3 ThunderRidge next.
