BOULDER, Colo.—A 20-year-old University of Colorado student is in the hospital after being hit by a pickup truck while she was walking on a sidewalk in Boulder.
Police say Chloe Kay was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after the accident left her unconscious Thursday night.
The driver told police he was looking for a parking space near CU’s campus when he unknowingly drove onto the sidewalk. He estimated he was driving about 20 mph at the time.
Police said Friday they are awaiting results of a blood test on the 17-year-old driver to see whether drugs were a factor in the accident.
The driver’s name hasn’t been released, and he hasn’t been arrested.
