COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A 49-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder stemming from a shooting outside a Colorado Springs auto parts store.
The Gazette ( ) reports Frani Olivas is being held at the El Paso County jail without bail for the July 27 shooting that killed Joaquin Paniagua and injured Don LaRoe.
Prosecutors say Edward Coffey shot the men when a robbery plot went bad. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.
Court records say Coffey’s wife, Dawn Morgan, told police that Olivas and Coffey planned to get rent money by robbing someone. Morgan pleaded guilty Feb. 17 to one count of accessory to a crime, and her sentencing is scheduled for April 12.
