 Front Range residents sick of the wind will just have to suck it up for the time being, more strong winds are expected in northern and northeastern Colorado.

A “high wind watch” has been posted by the National Weather Service for the Front Range foothills and northeastern plains this afternoon into Wednesday morning.

Winds gusting up to 85 mph will howl through the foothills starting this afternoon, with gusts up to 55 mph on the plains, the weather service reports.

In the northern and central mountains today, snow and blowing snow will likely hamper travel, especially over higher mountain passes.

Some areas north of I-70 could see up to 10 inches of snow today, according to the weather service.

In Denver, skies will be partly sunny today, with winds gusting to about 34 mph. Today’s high temperature in the city should top out at about 48 degrees.

On Wednesday, skies over the city should be sunny and the high temperature should top out at about 55 degrees.
