Getting your player ready...

Eyeliner can be hard to apply, and getting a too-heavy line is a rookie mistake. Glo Minerals aims to make it easier with its new Precise Micro Eyeliner, $12. Available in four colors — black, brown, charcoal and navy blue — the product “glides on like a cream liner but stays put like a liquid,” according to the Kate McCarthy, national makeup artist for the brand. For daytime, it’s great for creating an “invisible” line to accentuate your eyes, and applied a little more dramtically can give a retro cat-eye effect for night. Here are McCarthy’s tips for achieving the effect:

Start the “wing” on the bottom lash line, extending out toward your temple.

Connect the bottom line to upper lash line creating a triangle).

Fill in the triangle.

Sharpen liner to a point.

Line the rest of your eye, making sure that the inner corner is thin, increasing in thickness as you approach the outer corner.
