State champs no more. There will be a new champion in Class 4A for the first time in six years with Broomfield losing to Air Academy, but the biggest shock of the day came in Class 3A.
The upset came courtesy of 17th-seeded Florence. The Huskies (15-9) went to Holy Family (22-2) and beat the four-time defending champs 47-44 to advance to Moby Arena in Fort Collins.
Another defending champ also was eliminated in Class 2A, where Sanford lost to Rye 52-50 in La Junta.
