The NCAA announced Sunday that Colorado Mines will host the Central Regional of the men’s Division II Tournament.
The top-seeded Orediggers (27-2), ranked second nationally, are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament champs.
They will play eighth-seeded Augustana (17-10) in a Saturday quarterfinal in Golden.
Second-seeded Metro State (22-6) will make its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Roadrunners play Saturday against Adams State (19-8), the No. 7 seed.
Wayne (Neb.) State will host the women’s Central Regional, where second-seeded and seventh-ranked Metro State (25-3) plays Friday vs. seventh-seeded Minnesota Duluth (18-9).
Also on Friday, third-seeded Fort Lewis (25-4) will open against No. 6 seed University of Mary (19-10) and fifth-seeded CSU-Pueblo (21-6) will play No. 4 seed Augustana (24-6).
Top-seeded and second-ranked Wayne State (29-2) will play its quarterfinal game against eighth-seeded Minnesota State (18-10).
