Getting your player ready...

Give a kid fish sticks and he is fed for a school day. Teach kids to fish and, well, they get a varsity letter for a lifetime. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced it will sanction bass fishing, along with bowling, as a varsity sport beginning in the fall. “Fishing is the greatest equal opportunity sport there is,” said Mark Gintert, national youth director for The Bass Federation. “That fish has no idea if you’re a girl or a boy, if you’re 6-feet-4 or 4-foot-6. A girl can stand right in there beside a boy in the front of a boat and be catching fish. It makes no difference whatsoever.”
