FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Larimer County may reverse a ban on magnesium chloride to reduce dust on non-paved county roads despite the potential damage to trees.

Transportation officials tell county commissioners the chemicals could be used in Pinewood Springs and Estes Park to reduce dust. They said it could later be extended to other county roads.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald (), the county banned the substance several years ago because it is toxic to trees.
