A student was arrested this afternoon after his alleged threats against faculty and other students led to a lockout at ThunderRidge High School and nearby Ranch View Middle School.
Neither the boy’s name nor his age were released because he is a juvenile.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department also did not elaborate on what the threat was or how it was delivered.
Spokesman Ron Hanavan said the school resource officer was notified of the threat and immediately started an investigation.
The threat was received before 1:30 p.m., said Randy Barber, spokesman for Douglas County schools.
A lockout means students resumed normal activities on campus while the perimeter of the school was locked and monitored.
At 3 p.m., students were released safely without incident.
In convicted, the student faces a charge of interference with staff, faculty or students of educational institutions, a class 1 misdemeanor that result in a sentence of up to 18 months in custody.
