Former Denver TV anchor Bazi Kanani landed an exclusive interview with Jacob Acaye, the Ugandan former child abductee at the heart of the half-hour film, which went viral this week.

The film by a San Diego advocacy group, , argues for increased world attention to the crimes of Joseph Kony and the rebel group Lord’s Resistance Army, which human rights groups say have terrorized central Africa for decades.

The film has logged more than 57 million views since Monday.

Kanani, an anchor at KUSA-Channel 9 , is based in Nairobi.

In the film Acaye – then a 13-year-old boy – says he doesn’t want to live; he is too afraid, too sad, and wants only to join his slain brother in heaven. Today, ABC News said, Kanani located Jacob in Kampala, Uganda, where he is now a young man studying to be a lawyer.

A portion of the exclusive interview is scheduled to be broadcast tonight, locally on KMGH-Channel 7, on “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer.”

The interview will be available on .
