The name of the 23-year-old skier who died Friday after hitting a tree at Keystone Resort was released today.
Around 1 p.m. Truitt Hunter, of Castle Rock, was skiing on the intermediate trail, Spring Dipper, according to a news release from the Summit County Coroner’s office.
Hunter was not wearing a helmet when he reportedly caught an edge on his ski and veered off the trail and into a tree. Keystone Ski Patrol and St. Anthony’s Flight for Life crew performed life-saving measures on Hunter and took him to Keystone Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Hunter died of multiple skull fractures.
