LOVELAND, Colo.—Adele Cass and Kaylie Hahn scored nine points apiece to lead Pawnee to its first girls’ Class 1A state title, a 28-23 victory over Norwood on Saturday.
Two free throws by Tasha Timm capped an 11-0 run by the Coyotes in the fourth quarter to make it 24-16.
Norwood closed to 24-21 on Shelby Brier’s 3-pointer with 1:04 to play. But Cass and Hahn sank two free throws each to clinch the game.
Senior Lindsey Stindt led the Mavericks with 11 points.
