LAFAYETTE — Can you run for 12 hours? Members of the Centaurus track and field team, along with anyone who has legs and sneakers, are sure they will do that Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the school will host the inaugural Warrior Marble Relay, which will benefit the team as well as junior Bobby Marble, who is in a fight with acute myeloid leukemia. The goal is to raise $10,000.

The Warriors and coach Devin Rourke have enlisted local businesses to provide cash, food, products and services for participants.

Ultimately, there will be a bell lap to conclude the event, when lights will be dimmed and participants will sport glow sticks and flashlights to escort the Marble family around the track.
