Boulder repeated as state champion in badminton last weekend in competition at Northglenn High School.
Behind the overall play of Julian Melcer and Kate Mooney, the Panthers were dominant. Melcer finished first in boys singles and mixed doubles. He also was second in boys doubles. Mooney won all three girls individual events — singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
In boys doubles, Gauthan Viswaroonpan and Jerry Sung of Rampart in Colorado Springs placed first.
Boulder won with 92 points. Evergreen (24) and Poudre (24) in Fort Collins tied for second among teams,and Rampart (22) finished fourth. There were eight schools in the field.
