Art
The MCA finally goes over the edge
Friday night. As art openings go, this one promises to be rowdy — wild, even; we’re thinking someone might get hurt. Or maybe not, but there will be music at the celebration of “Search & Destroy,” the Museum of Contemporary Art’s exhibit of punk rock photography. Check out the shots from Bruce Conner and Richard Peterson and shake to the sounds of Modern Witch, featuring Mario Zoots and DJ Ginger Perry. There are actually three shows opening at once, so it’ll be a big night. 8 p.m. to midnight, 1485 Delgany St. Info at . Ray Mark Rinaldi
Classical music
Edge, then and now
April 5. Classical music continues to reinvent itself, and these days that comes in the form of interesting ensembles like the Calder Quartet, performing Thursday, April 5 at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins. These four guys have gained a young and passionate following by mixing edgy, older composers like Maurice Ravel with edgy, new ones like Terry Riley. Not surprisingly, both on are on the program the quartet is bringing to town. Also in the mix: Ben Johnston’s “Amazing Grace.” The Lincoln Center is at 417 W. Magnolia St. More info: or 970-221-6730.
