AURORA, Colo.—City employees in Aurora are taking a scheduled unpaid furlough day Friday.

The Aurora Sentinel reports ( ) the move will save the city about $500,000.

City facilities will be closed, but golf courses will stay open. Public health and safety services also will remain fully staffed.

Employees for the city have taken furlough days since 2010 to help keep expenses down.
